German Shepherd Puppy Duece von Starke Pfoten Dear Kerry and Kevin,

I just wanted to tell you what a joy S'unka has been. He is everything I asked for in a puppy. He has been doing sheep herding since 9 weeks old and is showing great potential. I'm in Karen Pryor';s clicker academy and he is doing very well in that area. I am a master instructor for Guide Dogs for the Blind and needed a dog that was stable enough to handle a highly distracted environment and he to has proven himself in this area as well. He is the most well rounded puppy I have every owned or worked with. I can't thank you enough for all the effort and work you have put into your dogs.

Hello!

We just wanted to send an updated picture of Capi (Eli), this was taken 10-25-07. He is doing really well and everyone is happy. This was a picture taken on my cell phone, so it's a little grainy.
Thanks again!

German Shepherd Puppy Duece von Starke Pfoten Hi Kevin and Kerry,
Just wanted to say that Brutus is doing extremely well, better than I even imagined! I was a little nervous about the purchase afraid that you were just really really good at putting a website together. But after having Brutus for 2 weeks now he is EVERYTHING & MORE your website made me think he would be!
I hope you never stop with the outstanding quality, care and dedication you have put into these gorgeous German Shepherd Dogs! We need LOTS more people like the 2 of you in the world! I love the training videos, they are very helpful! Can we get more? ; )
Respectfully,
Gail Smithson

Future Starke Pfoten puppy buyers;

Getting my puppy from Kevin & Kerry was without a doubt the best choice I could have made when getting my third German Shepherd.

“ Amity” now 13+ months, is more then I could ask for in a German Shepherd dog. She is a loyal, loving, fearless, smart, high drive female, whose beauty is breathtaking!

Amity has shown her courageousness even in her early training in schutzhund, getting her first bite on the sleeve at one year of age, she has never showed an ounce of hesitations to the sleeve! Working her in obedience is a true pleasure; her willingness to please me is very evident on the obedience field. In tracking she has a deep strong nose, again a pleasure to work with in this phase of training.
Amity’s intelligence is something anyone who meets her would ever question. She is the ideal shepherd in every way!

This same dog with all her HIGH drives, can come in from the field to the house and will switch to a mellow, easy going companion/playmate for my five year old granddaughter, Amity has been dressed up for more then one tea party! Her good nature and excellent temperament is more then any dog owner could ask for!

Kevin & Kerry have and are a blessing to me; they have answered endless questions of every nature for me over the last year. I’m grateful for their support and knowledge in the many subjects I‘ve questioned them in. I can’t thank them enough!

I had searched for close to a year when I found Starke Pfoten German Shepherds; I followed my instincts, and have never looked back or had one regret in my purchase of Amity! I got more then a puppy, I got a wonderful companion, a guardian for myself & granddaughter, a great future schutzhund dog and last but not at all least a family member who is very loved.

I feel, you can put any nervousness you may have aside, I truly believe anyone who has a Starke Pfoten puppy will be more then happy with him or her.

Sincerely,
Lana Getz - Lake County, Ca.

german shepherd puppy Chesna von Starke Pfoten I was very nervous about buying a dog through the internet but I had nothing to be nervous about since your dogs are absolutely the top of the line. We bought Chesna who we now call Dakota and she is healthy, happy, and smart as can be, didn't take to paper training instead just went right outside. Thank you you truly take exceptional care of your dogs.

        Hi Kevin,
I wanted to let you know how great Baxter is doing. He turned twelve weeks old
yesterday; he grows and changes so much every day. He's so smart. I've been
using a clicker and he knows sit, platz, shake, and is learning heel. He
also knows the hand signal for sit and platz. He knows to sit in front of
me when he comes; thanks to you for teaching him that. As for house training,
one day he just decided he would bark at the top of the stairs whenever he
wanted to go out and he hasn't had an accident since.

<font color=He has a tremendous appetite and loves to work for food, but he also loves to receive praise. He is very pleasing as you said he would be. His prey drive is excellent, and he really uses his nose. I think he will excel in tracking. He's very confident and social, wanting to meet everyone he sees. He's never afraid in new situations and loves to be in the thick of things. He went to many holiday functions and loved every minute of it. He's a very happy dog, approaching everything with such enthusiasm.

My female shepherd is very large, about 85 pounds. They play outside and he is holding his own, getting tougher with every play session. They have a blast playing in the snow. She lets him steal her toys and he thinks he is just about the greatest thing ever.

He's such a good looking puppy, everyone comments on what a handsome dog he will become. I really couldn't be happier with him, and he has adjusted to his new life with ease. I'll keep you posted on his progress.

Bash's first trip to the boat ramp and camping--he loved the boat! I didn't get any photos of him while we were out as I was captain that day---but both ears are up now and he was right at home out fishing! Even helped us capture stray bait fish on the deck. He is such a trooper! He takes everything new with such ease. Walked right out into the water at the beach--chased the sea gulls and played with everyone that came close enough. We all love him dearly. He knows Here, sitz, and nein---(for trying to play with the pig) and is working on ows and foss. He will retrieve anything you throw, but we haven't found the german word for release---but we'll look today. He understands the clicker with the treat, but doesn't seem to care a whole bunch whether he gets the treat or not---just the hearty approval... Much thanks again and will keep you posted.

Hey All!! it's me!!!! sorry I haven't emailed, Barret doesn't slow down long enough for me to do much besides eat and sleep! He's sooo cool i'm really happy with him, everyday he does something new that empresses me even more. what i love most about him is that even if he's not sure of something all i have to do is come along side him and walk about half the way up to it, before he reliezes it's not gonna hurt him and he goes the rest of the way himself and sees if it does anything when he bites it. :) i dont have very good pics for you but i'll send you some, as i stated he doesn't slow down long enough for me to get any clear pictures. but he's sooo awesome he runs right up to people on the street and stands his ground at dogs barking at us from behind fences. I'm doing a little obedience with him and a little tug work but other then that im just letting him be a puppy and grow up, the only thing i really enforce with him is that he doesn't bite my pants, ooouch! Talk to you guys later!!!

We are madly in love with "Lilly" She is outstanding! She went to work with me today for a couple of hours, and then to the river. She absolutley loved the water and all of the action. We were so very impressed with the behavior of all of your dogs. It is very clear that you and your wife provide all of the dogs with lots of love and training. We could not be more pleased:)
I will definetly take you up on your offer for introductions. We live only 5 minutes away from Tumwater so just let me know when you are going and that is when we will also. I am enclosing the picture from when we took her home with us. She is FABULOUS! I will let you know when I come up with a "A" name. Thanks so very much and much success to you and your wife with your kennel.

Hi Kerry,
Amity is wonderful, What a joy she is!! she is now 26.7lbs. as of yesterday at her vet apt. She was microchiped at this visit also. Here is the info on the "chip" to keep with the info you have on her, so if something was to happen to me and she came back to you and Kevin.
Kerry, you did a wonderful job getting these puppies ready for their new homes, She is so good in the car, doing her nails is easy, no fear of other dogs, loves the water, she is the little star at my vet's office, she sits, does short stays, comes when called, potty training is going real well, if I had her in a kennel at night I don't think we would really have any oopses in the house, but she sleeps in the bed with me & Nicole.
She is a all around GREAT puppy! And is loved beyond words!!

Hi Kerry all is well, she is fun to watch learn. Her food drive is through the roof. Prey drive might be about the same. Great focus, when she is hitting a chew toy and I am on the other end,she can be touched and not let go, I have a little stick and touch her side and she keeps on biting...great puppy nerve, in new situations she keeps impressing me. Very outgoing and confident meeting dogs, people, cats. My friends have helped with dogs to meet cats and them of course. The recalls are great she flys, sits tight. The preplacement work is of interest to me because of her solid state of present when we got her, and quick progress.

Hey Kerry,
Ad Lib is doing very well. We are keeping him on a raw diet. His ears are completely standing up today-sooo handsome(the girls say). He is very smart! He whines when he has to go potty and when we say "go outside?" -he canters to the backdoor. Sometimes, however he cunningly tricks us and we end up in a bout of chasing butterflies and attacking stray sticks..instead. He also obliges the girls when they request kisses (licky-tongues). And 'Daddy' has also been ousted as Prince Ad Lib-the bestest puppy in the world-now reigns. I would like to know what you guys use for 'training' treats (foodwise)? Although, he is quite satisfied with play-toy rewards. The girls came up with a hide-and-seek game with his 'catfish crackler' toy-where he stays with one girl while the other hides with his toy and then he finds them. I love the way he turns his head when he interacts with them-too cute! Thanks so much for our little boy!

Kerry and Kevin

It has taken me 3years to get over the sudden, tragic death of my other German Shepherd. Kaiser has brought me back to life. He is smart, attentive and full of love. He and my cats are starting to like each other. He loves to travel in my car and my neighbors all love him. It is very HOT, here in St. Louis and he loves playing in the water. He knows the commands, Sitz, Platz, Watch, Bring, Out, Speak, Heal, Fuey, Ball and Kisses. He loves to play tug-a-war and chase his ball. Kaiser and my cats are my life, THANK-YOU!!!
